United Press International reports the Civil Aeronautics Board will hear arguments in Washington on Frontier Airlines proposed abandonment of service to Columbus Nebraska. The CAB previously upheld a rejection of the plan. petitions for discretionary review were filed. Supporters include the Bureau of Operating Rights Grand Island Chamber of Commerce and Scottsbluff city and chamber. Opponents include the City of Columbus Nebraska Aeronautics Department Omaha and Greater Omaha Jim Kelley says the ruling could affect a petition to consolidate Frontier service to Hall County and improve travel by avoiding a 60 mile hop to Columbus.

Nebraska approves misdemeanor drug possession bill to the governor
Nebraska lawmakers gave final approval to a measure declaring possession of certain prescription drugs illegal with a fine up to 300 dollars or up to 30 days in jail. Devaney to Speak at Columbus High Spring Banquet
