UPI reports Chicago futures with live cattle, frozen pork bellies and live hogs showing varied opens. Prices for Feb to Aug cattle range from 39.30 to 41.95 while pork bellies trade around 72.75 to 73.25. Omaha grain and livestock notes show hogs and cattle price ranges and bids, with 3,000 cattle and 4,500 hogs noted and mixed bid activity.
A Community Club meeting heard the Nebraska State Dental Association suggest a dentist willing to relocate to a rural area. Membership chairman Robert Neuhaus reported 93 members. Ed Ehlers discussed a Planned Program trip to Schuyler for Colfax County group efforts. House of Yesteryear and Tri-County Recreation Association memberships were paid. Support was pledged for a future Bicentennial celebration.
Mrs June Doyle hosted the GGG Bridge Club with two winning tables led by Mrs Ruby Qualsett and Mrs Forrest Smith. The group also celebrated Mrs Joe Wilson's birthday during the gathering.
