Platte College sees spring enrollment peak with new electronics class
Platte College reports 890 students enrolled for spring, 18 more than fall and 30 more than a year ago, marking a six year pattern of higher spring enrollments. The Electronics Technology program is filled with 20 students for Introduction to Electricity Electronics beginning Feb 17, led by Ronald Vorderstrasse who previously built the program at Mid Plains Technical Community College. A full electronics lineup is planned for next fall.

Small-loan bill gains second-round approval in Nebraska
Lincoln Nebraska United Press International reports LB 477 won second-round approval by 29 to 0 in the unicameral. The bill would lift the small loan ceiling to 5000 dollars and adjust rates for loans 500 to 1000 dollars. It preserves 30 percent on loans to 300 dollars and 24 percent on 300 to 500 dollars. It also lengthens payback on loans over 2000 dollars to six years.

COL inflation eases in December with 0.5 percent rise
