Pair Re elected by Farmers Co Op

PLATIE CENER The annual meeting of the Farmers Coop Oil company was attended by about 400 patrons and wives. Dan Wienroth of Grand Island reported on the grain situation in this area. Robert Gingery a former resident of David City now with a farm products manufacturer followed the company's operations. James Schmidt and Melvin Gehring were re elected secretary and director respectively. Other board members are Dale Lutyens Richard Reins Dale Pillen and Harry Greisen. Attendance prizes were won by Florence Molzcyke Ray Waldman Cycril Braun Ferd Dohman Mark Mestmeyer Don Hamling Duane Karns and Mines. Joe Hilger Otto Arndt and Dorothy Litchenfeld Otto Arndt won the door prize. Ladies of Shell Creek Baptist Church prepared and served dinner.

Exon vows veto on bill to fund sewer plant aid

LINCOLN UPI Gov J J Exon said he would veto a bill pushed by the Nebraska League of Municipalities to appropriate 7 million dollars next year for municipal treatment plants. He warned the measure would be vetoed if passed. Last year 6.6 million was approved but only 1 million will be spent. 3.6 million seated unused. State funds and matching- grant practice discussed to avoid idle treasury funds. A constitutional proposal would let the state loan municipalities money to meet its obligation, then convert loans to appropriations.
