Time clock error delays North Dakota state payroll

BISMARCK North Dakota UPI An incorrectly set time clock at the state Treasurer vault prevented about 4500 state employees from receiving pay on Monday. State Treasurer Bernice Abridge said the lock was set for 4 30 a.m. Tuesday and promised to process 2.6 million dollars in checks starting at 4 31 a.m.

Lexington Kentucky resident Joseph L Moore designs a drum driven by a tractor to pick up litter across roadsides. The 47 inch diameter drum with 400 spring loaded prongs deposits debris into a hopper and works on grass and hard surfaces at about five miles per hour, potentially replacing 15 workers. Moore, 49, says it is inexpensive and he plans to build or partner for mass production after showing it to manufacturers.
