TVA reports Stones Ferry Unit 1 operates reliably
TVA announced that its first nuclear unit at Stones Ferry in north Alabama ran reliably and economically. From July to November 1974 Unit 1 produced 2 billion kWh, was 8 percent available, and delivered fuel savings versus coal plants. Commercial production began August 1, 1974.
