Nebraska PSC opens path to General general rate approval
The Nebraska Public Service Commission voted 4 to 1 to direct drafting of an order to set a 9.75 percent rate of return for General Telephone. If approved later, this would lift gross revenue by about 373 607 dollars and net gain roughly half that. The dispute centered on how to treat federal income taxes in calculating the return. Commissioner Rasmussen urged staff method while Duane Gay backed reducing the income figure by 93 526 dollars to keep the same return with higher rates. Rasmussen urged consistency with other cases.
