Weather shifts with heavy snows closing roads across Nebraska

Police Busy on Washington Birthday in Columbus and Platte County

Columbus and Platte County police reported a busy holiday with auto theft and larceny charges. Ten juveniles were booked in connection with the thefts of Ted Mimick's car on Jan 25, Barney Novicki's car on Dec 29, and a rifle from Marvin Bender's vehicle on Nov 16, 1976. burglars damaged a pop machine, opened the cash drawer, and took oil, cigarettes, and a watch, with losses totaling 391 dollars in cash and merchandise. Sheriff's deputies investigated losses including a speaker and tape player from Sharon Frauendorfer's car and a ladder and rakes from Florence Brugger's cabin at Stires Lake.
