Lincoln Nebraska UPI report notes a licensing bill aimed at easing county treasurers burdens was killed by sponsor Sen Jack Mills on a 26 11 vote. Amendments proposed monthly registrations for owners with three or more vehicles were discussed but the bill was deemed operable only with clarifying language and will return next year.
The FDA warned that 19 000 cases of Pepperidge Farm pretzels contained lye crystals that can burn the mouth and throat. The lye was not fully dissolved in the packaging, with incidents in Detroit preceding a nationwide recall totaling 56 000 affected cases. Return affected products to purchase point.
