Hollywood actor Sal Mineo was stabbed to death Thursday night outside his apartment below the Sunset Strip. Deputies said a long blond haired man fled the scene after witnesses heard screams. Mineo, 37, known for Rebel Without a Cause and Exodus, was found dead of a chest wound in the carport behind the building. He had just returned from rehearsals for a play. homicide detectives questioned witnesses. Born in New York City, Mineo rose from Broadway roles to film stardom starting at age 16.
