A 48000 square foot facility for The Behlen Wickes Company Limited, subsidiary of The Wickes Corporation, is under rapid construction in Brandon Manitoba. Startup is slated for May 1970 to produce grain storage tanks and Curvet farm buildings. About 30 workers to start, rising to around 100 in two years. The plant uses a stressed skin design and marks Wickes diversified shelter interests.

Purse snatcher fails to finish as he flees in Flint
In Flint Michigan a purse snatcher struck and knocked down Mrs. Lubertha Lane after grabbing her purse on Christmas Eve. The assailant fled through a used car lot and vaulted a fence before disappearing. the incident occurred near Hurley Hospital with officers investigating.
