Sharp drop in auto accidents as streets improve

Police report only four new traffic accidents this morning versus 21 weekend incidents. No injuries were listed. A Sunday case involved Wayne Van Hale of Columbus and Anton Graham’s Parkview Trailer Court car worth 75 dollars. Monday incidents include Jerald Baker and Cheryl Schrader’s 250 dollar damage on AL 35th Street, Sylvia Hermone and Martin Homemann’s 45 dollar case on 23rd Street, and a hit-and-run with Kinyon Brooks’s parked car totaling 75 dollars on AL 24rd Street and 28th Avenue.

Autopsy finds Creighton basketball star Heck died in sleep

An autopsy on 20 year old Creighton University guard Michael Heck showed his heart was about 50 percent larger than normal due to left ventricle thickening and rapid ballooning of heart chambers. Pathologists found no heart disease or Martan's syndrome and noted sudden death can occur without athletic link. Coroner Keenan said cold tablets found in his system were unrelated.

Wayne Heads Platte Heart Fund effort

Kissinger defends Rockefeller testimony before House panel

Dollar slides as gold soars on Paris talks deal

ASC elects Platte County committee members in 1975 election

Platte County ASC chose a three member county committee for 1975. H F Wessel of Humphrey fills the vacated seat, replacing Clarence Albracht who is ineligible for re election after 12 years on the committee. Wayne Galley of Columbus will chair next year with Wessel as vice chair and Clarence Westmeyer of Platte Center as regular member. Bruno Becher and Harvey Jepsen are first and second alternates.
