Booster shot urged for 18 to 24 year olds
Orval Cooley a Columbus Community Hospital pharmacist says swine flu booster shots are required for 18 to 24 year olds to complete vaccination. The booster should be given four to six weeks after the first dose with no vaccine charge but a physician administered fee may apply. Those who had their first shot on Oct 31 should contact their doctor for a booster. No other age groups are affected.

Public hearing on HUD funds seeks city input
The City Council invites public comments at 8 p.m. on Wednesday about applications for Community Development Act funds from the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Initial grant applications are due January 7 and may cover extending water and sewer lines to unserved areas in south Columbus and developing Centennial Park in southeast Columbus. Last year the city sought funds for a three million gallon water reservoir, which was not approved.
