Leigh Wendell Woodward attended the Alpha Zeta fraternity anniversary banquet in the Lincoln university student union Sunday. Alumni invited to honor Frank Zybach of Columbus who received an honorary membership for his circulatory irrigation system invention. Woodward stayed Monday visiting former Leigh residents Mr and Mrs Joe Prokop.
Washington reports federal agencies cut fuel use by 24 percent in the first year of a presidential energy program. Ford ordered a further 15 percent reduction, Nixon had required 7 percent earlier, and the private sector faced a 5 percent target. Savings totaled 90.5 million barrels of oil and 725 million dollars, with aviation and jet fuel cuts driving the bulk of government savings. Ship fuel reductions, electricity curbs, and other measures contributed to the overall decline.
