Akron area man builds century village of relics on farm

Jim O'Brien of Akron farms west of Albion has quietly assembled a sprawling historical village on his land. He moved churches, barns, a sod house, a saloon, a post office, a railroad depot and countless relics gathered over 15 years. The project celebrates the Bicentennial with demonstrations, displays, airplane rides and tours.

Two Lincoln men charged in Columbus drugstore burglary

State Patrol investigators arrested two Lincoln men and recovered a large portion of drugs taken from Tooley Drug Store. Douglas R. Milbourn said felony counts of burglary and possession of opium were filed. Lindhurst given 10000 bond and Morrow 5000 bond. Preliminary hearing set for next week.

Ford Dole visit ends with missing house key

In Russell Kansas on Friday, Bina Dole sought the key to her doorstep when President Ford greeted her and her son Senator Robert Dole. She located the hidden key behind the drain pipe on the front porch of the red brick home.

Sperm Immunity Studied as Possible Contraception

University of Nebraska researcher Dr. James McClurg reports efforts to immunize women against sperm to prevent fertilization. He notes some women naturally develop antibodies to sperm and describes tests using blood serum and cervical mucus to detect these antibodies and render sperm inactive.

Mrs Smith elected GOP chairman at tough time

Mary Louise Smith won unanimous election to a full term as chairwoman of the Republican National Committee in Kansas City Missouri. She took office in 1974 and again after winning the presidential nomination this week promising firm action without delay.

Ford Dole rally GOP on eve of 1980 campaign

At a breakfast with the new 162 member national committee Ford and Sen. Bob Dole urged unity for Republicans nationwide. Ford urged study of vice presidential selection and pledged a broad campaign while Dole, a former committee chair, urged rallying behind Ford leadership. Mrs. Smith led the party at the helm, following 1972 campaign precedent.
