Two 4-H Clubs to Represent Buller County at State Fair
Two 4-H clubs will represent Buller County at the Nebraska State Fair song contest after county judging on Wednesday. Daddy's Little Girls won a Purple ribbon in large group, while Abie Busy Beavers earned a blue ribbon and will compete in small group. Judge was Mrs. Melvin Boltger of Columbus. Superintendents were Mrs. Don Struebing and Mrs. Virgil Vrbka.

Scottsbluff to get K-Mart store
Construction on a new 1.6 million dollar K-Mart store in Scottsbluff is expected to begin in September or October. The 64,600 square foot discount store will sit on about 10 acres in the north central part of the city with a 6,000 square foot garden center and a future fed store. Developers are C & W Manhattan Associates of Houston, Texas, and construction is slated to take about 10 months.

Mullin to be sentenced for 10 murders in California
Herbert W Mullin, 26, convicted of killing ten people in a three week spree, faces sentencing on September 18 in Santa Cruz County Superior Court. Jurors found him guilty on two counts of first degree murder and eight counts of second degree murder, but sane on all counts.
