Nebraska Vets to Use GI Bill Says 9000 Planned
The regional VA office estimates 9 000 Nebraska veterans will use the GI Bill this year with about 8 000 at college level and the rest in vocational and technical schools. Omaha Woman Killed In Arizona Car Crash
Mrs. Hellece L. Smith, 40, of Omaha Nebraska died Tuesday night when her car ran off U S 66 and overturned near Winslow Arizona. The highway patrol said she lost control after being caught in the draft of a following tractor trailer. Her husband Clarence 34 and five children were injured in the crash.

Tomato shaped like hot dog developed in California
Agricultural scientists at the University of California Davis campus have crossbred an elongated tomato two inches in diameter and four to five inches long. The new tomato, designed to fit mechanical harvesters, is being grown on about 100 acres and will soon reach the market in cans.
