Body search resumes for Grand Island youth at Eagles Lake
A search for the body of a Grand Island teenager continued Monday at Eagles Lake east of Grand Island after he apparently drowned Thursday while attempting to swim across the lake. Poor water visibility hampered the effort, Hall County Sheriff C F Headley said.

Pipeline Accident Kills Five In Blair County
Five men died and a sixth was severely burned during a turbine cleaning when a 12 inch pipe burst with great force in Blair County. Coroner Charles Burkey cites steam burns and asphyxiation as the causes. Fire Chief William Frye notes the blast blew off clothing and trapped workers inside.
