FEA Officials Promote Coal and Conservation at Nebraska Utility Conference
Mintz of the FEA urged greater use of coal and other domestic energy sources and outlined a plan for efficiency gains to save 30 percent in energy use without harming output. Aquinas Band Earns Disney World Parade Invitation
The Aquinas High Band has been invited to join the America on Parade Bicentennial celebration at Walt Disney World in Orlando Florida this summer. They will march in the evening parade on June 16 and also tour Kennedy Space Center Florida beaches and other attractions. Band members and parents plan the trip with fund raising efforts to cover costs and remaining funds from students and families. Disney selections cited strong performances at the district music contest and the Pershing Marching Festival.

Reyne Ann Divis of David City finished as a state alternate in the 1976-77 year. Sponsored by Columbus Lodge 1195 she won its local award of 125 dollars. the new honor could be worth 600 dollars with May final judgments. Reyne is an honor student at David City High School and plans to study nursing at the University of Nebraska.

Legion honor guard pays final tribute to veterans
The American Legion Hartman Post 84 Honor Guard, led by Keith Bryan, has paid tribute at 300 graveside services since its first appearance on March 20 1957. The 31 volunteers perform in all weather, fold flags, lay poppies, and fire a three volley salute with World War I rifles. Fourteen men form a full guard. Bryan has attended 288 ceremonies, and the group has taken part in 37 southern ceremonies since its start.
