The University of Michigan Institute for the Study of Mental Retardation and Related Disabilities reports that several adults with severe mental and physical handicaps have been hired through a federally funded program. Officials say the project demonstrates that anyone, regardless of severity, can contribute productively through vocational evaluation training and job placements.
The Village of Duncan Nebraska will accept sealed bids until 7:00 PM May 2 1977 for construction of a lift station force main and waste stabilization lagoon. Plans are on file with the Village Clerk and may be obtained from Bruce L. Gilmore & Associates for 25 dollars with 10 dollars refundable. Bids require certified check or bid bond of at least 15 percent of the engineer's estimate and bid validity for 45 days. The engineer's estimate is 95000 dollars and performance bond is due within 10 days after award. The project is funded in part by a grant under the Federal Water Pollution Control Act with EPA participation though the EPA is not a party to the contract.
