FDA moves to curb antibiotic use in animal feed

Nebraska jobless rate falls to five percent 1977
Nebraska’s unemployment rate eased from 5.2 percent in February to 5 percent in March, the State Labor Department reported. Seasonal agricultural work drove the drop, with 34,700 Nebraskans jobless in March compared with 35,400 in February and 45,400 a year earlier. the March rate is 1.5 percentage points below March 1976.

Leigh farmer still handy with 'orphans' in old age
Otto Wullschleger, an 80 year old Leigh farmer, cares for an orphan lamb using a bottle with a 4 to 1 milk replacer. He has 18 ewes lambing on 400 acres east of Leigh while tending 35 cows and yearlings. A long farming career includes horse farming until 1927, trucking, and board positions. he lost his wife in 1964 and survived a hand injury in 1966. He remains active in church and community, with two children and four grandchildren.
