Bellevue Officials Contest Military Residency Tuition Rule
BELLEVUE UPS Offutt Air Force Base officials released a five page statement arguing the Bellevue School District misinterprets Nebraska residency standards for tuition free education. They cite two paths to residency: permanent residence or a home in the district with intent to live there. They claim military dependents fall under the second path, entitling free public schooling, and warn they will seek court action if funding remains short. The district had planned to charge tuition for military dependents due to missing impact aid funds.
