Albracht Named to Platte County Board of Supervisors
Clarence Albracht of Humphrey was unanimously elected by the Platte County Board of Supervisors to fill the unexpired term after the death of Harvey Sander. He was chosen from 19 applicants. County actions include approval of radar equipment purchases using 5050 funding and multiple bids for road materials and emulsified asphalt contracts.

A slow moving system draped central and southern plains with overcast skies and more than one inch of rain in southeast Nebraska. Beatrice Fairbury Hallam Sprague and Hickman reported heaviest rainfall as temps climbed into the 50s and near 70 in parts of the east with highs 55 to 79 statewide. After eight primaries and five caucuses Carter leads the delegate race 235 to 169 over Jackson with Udall second in Wisconsin and New York. Jackson wins New York easily while Humphrey finishes third in a state with uncommitted delegates.

Nebraska Legislature Extends Session Two Days To Pass Speed Law
Nebraska lawmakers voted 41 to 5 to extend the annual Unicameral session by two days to enact a new speed limit law replacing last year’s self destructing measure. Gov Exon had favored a special session to meet time limits. A 32 to 8 vote killed all other LB bills, with LB202 advanced to second round and slated for a Friday final vote.
