Husker Spring Scrimmage Loses 27 Players to Injuries
The Nebraska spring football session sidelined 27 players including Larry Valasek with a back injury. Lakeview grad Clete Pillen is expected back in a few weeks after leading last year's tackles. Coaches note the toll on young players and walk ons as football remains prone to injuries. Andy Messersmith remains a free agent with Dodgers or Angels rumored, while Reggie Jackson heads to Baltimore in a big trade that reshapes both clubs.
