Scout Troops Receive Donated Canoes From Community
Scoutmaster Bob Zim merman of Troop 276 at Immanuel Lutheran Church organized donations from local businesses and individuals to provide three canoes for Columbus troops. Donors include Becton Dickinson Dale Electronics Behlen Manufacturing Industrial Engineering and Tastee Toppings. A canoe trailer and tires were donated by Dale Plugge and Bill's Tire Service plus Sears Roebuck Co. The trailer was painted by Fred Pfeifer. Foreman Cash Lumber gave a utility box and Froemel Jewelry supplied plaques. The Columbus Telegram covered shipping costs. Interested troops may contact Bob Zimmerman.
