Delegate City Convention Delegates Named by Republican Committee

The Republican city committee on February 10 established a delegate convention to nominate city offices for the May 1898 election. Representation was set at one delegate per 10 votes for McKinley and one for each over five in precincts, yielding a list of delegates by precinct and total delegates needed for a two choice ballot.

Open Day Program by Woman's Musical Club Highlights Folk Songs

The Woman's Musical Club presented an open day program at the Presbyterian church featuring Folk Songs from various nations. First ward school diploma exams held under J J Cochrane

Eighteen applicants were examined today at the first ward school building for a graded school diploma under the direction of J J Cochrane. Leo Thompson remains in serious condition with a stomach ailment and shows no improvement.

Panhandle line changes appoint inspectors and abolish chief role

Division superintendents now name watch inspectors on Panhandle lines and the post of chief inspector has been removed. If a complaint arises the superintendent conducts a personal investigation.

Mrs Mary Brown of Columbus is 77 and a longtime resident. Charlie Decker advertises horse and mule sales at Hartsville on the 25th and 26th. Lena Peggs visits sister in Louisville.
