Lebanon Tenn June 14 An drew Hankins aged 35 a highly respected truck gardener near Greenwood, while despondent, committed death by his own action Sunday at his home by taking several ounces of laudanum. Found unconscious in his room, physicians failed to revive him and he died about ten minutes later. He left no statements, but had suffered spells of despondency for months. His wife and several children mourn his loss.

Figuers Named Special Judge in Maury County Trials
On Wednesday two circuit courts sat in Maury County with Hon H P Figueras chosen by lawyers to try the Johnson Baker insult case. Judge Turner presided over the Sanders Moore case, and the trial was held before Mr Figuers to avoid extra witness travel to Columbia. The case style is T J Johason versus Sam Baker, its second trial date.

Couple Married Five Days Die In Colorado Springs Train Wreck
In Colorado Springs a bride of five days, Mrs T B Cavender of Denver, died after injuries from a short Hue train wreck near North Cheyenne Canyon. Nine others were seriously hurt when the observation car left the rail on a curve and overturned. Mrs Cavender was with her husband, who was only slightly injured.

Asheville N C June 14 The principal speakers at tonights section of the southern conference of the YWCA were Miss Grace Tottenham of London and Milo Susanne Bidgrain of France secretary of the national committee in that country Miss Tottenham described her missionary work in Great Britain Mile Bidgrain spoke through an interpreter and said YWCA work had made great strides in France in the last four years attributing much to the humane efforts of American women.

Hounds Burned Farm in Rock Springs Valley
Cookeville Tennessee June 1. A large barn on James Young’s farm in Rock Springs Valley burned last night. Arson likely as incendiary blaze. Four fine mules severely burned and likely to die. Corn hay farming gear and machinery destroyed. Loss about 2600 dollars. Young had little insurance on barn contents or stock. He previously suffered a large farm fire about a year ago. Young, a Bristol hardware merchant, was in Bristol when the search for the culprit began, arranging Bloodhounds from Nashville.
