Prosperity for Maury Farmers Sees Rising Hog and Corn Prices
Prospects for Maury County farmers look strong as hogs sell around 650 dollars per hundredweight in Louisville and 4.09 in the local market. Prices are volatile but likely to rise, with packing meat and box products favored as spring and summer demand grows. Corn markets stay solid at about 4.00 per barrel as corn crop prospects improve with large acreage and favorable rains.
