Colfax to Honor Pioneers in Founders Day Festivities
Colfax Area Historical Society plans a Saturday event on Main Street to honor local pioneers with booths, a Garden Club sale, a FOCS used book sale, music, business specials, and bicycle safety activities. The Century 100 cycling tour will pass through, with a plaque dedication ceremony at the Colfax Freight Depot featuring a Boy Scout flag ceremony, mayoral remarks, and a tree planting at Roy Tom's Plaza.

Hazardous material found near vacant restaurant
Placer County Hazmat teams responded to a report of unknown brown liquid left in one gallon and five gallon buckets near the back of Dingus McGee’s restaurant. Samples were taken for testing. the substance is confirmed hazardous and further analysis is ongoing by the Environmental Health Department. Local fire units assisted, and the incident was turned over to the sheriff.
