Colfax Falcons Prepare For Dimond In Top State Showdown
Colfax High football coach Tony Martello schedules a game with Alaska’s top large school Dimond High from Anchorage. Dimond sits at 4-1 after a strong start and ranked No. 1 in Alaska, while Colfax is 3-1 and ranked No. 2 in the state. The Falcons have a history against top-ranked teams, including 1979 loss to Ponderosa, 1988 win at Bishop Manogue, and 1997 CIF final loss to Hughson. Next Friday’s clash comes after Colfax struggled to find a local opener, with Woodcreek departing and parochial powers St. Bonaventure and Palma considered alternatives.
