Colfax Falcons Clinch Second Straight PVL Title in Rainy Showdown
In a defining late season victory Colfax High’s football team defeated Mesa Verde 23 6 to capture their second consecutive Pioneer Valley League championship. The win solidified Colfax as PVL leader and set up defense of the Sac Joaquin Section Division III title. Led by linebackers Wayne Lambeth and Bryan Collier the defense stifled Mesa Verde’s offense while D Angelo Wilson was held to 22 yards on nine carries. Quarterback Matt Parks was hurt in the second quarter and backup Tommy Fratcher guided the run focused attack.
