Daughter follows father's CHP path into law enforcement
Yvonne Ruiz Weimar is proud of Athena 24, Richard 21, and Martina 13 for staying out of trouble and succeeding in school. Athena, the eldest, joined the Explorer Program at 15, attended San Jose State, and graduated from the CHP Academy to work with the San Jose CHP. She describes the job as rewarding, with early experiences including a hazardous material incident, a drive by shooting arrest, and a fatality hit and run. Her family expects continued involvement in law enforcement, with husband and brother considering CHP paths.
