Woman hurt in rollover near Rollins Lake Road collision
Betty Eaton, 76, of Fallon Nevada, was airlifted to Roseville hospital with moderate injuries after a Ford Windstar rolled on Interstate 80 near Rollins Lake Road following a drift onto the shoulder. CHP officer Greg Cassina reported the Windstar struck a guardrail and a cement pillar before flipping onto its top. One lane of traffic remained open.

Skiers Rescued After Missing at Alpine Meadows Five Lakes
Placer County deputies say two skiers, 66 year old George Breubeck of Germany and 71 year old Ernest Gnos, went missing near Alpine Meadows on May 9. Rescue teams located Breubeck in the Five Lakes Drainage area west of the resort in good condition and hiked him out. Gnos was found after midnight in good condition and picked up by helicopter at daybreak after Nordic teams sheltered him overnight in the back country. Both men became disoriented in zero visibility snow and skied off the back side of the resort.

The California Highway Patrol launches a major statewide effort to boost seat belt use with officers patrolling, billboards, and radio and TV messages from May 19 to June 1 under the theme Remember or Be Remembered. California belt use stands at 91.1 percent, with a goal to reach the remaining nine percent.
