At Colfax Elementary over 32 acts competed before community judges. Kyle Sjoberg took first with a piano recital, Kellee Thompson earned second, and Lauren Hilton led the K–4 group with Ciera Allen tied for second. Fifth and sixth graders Christian Hollingsworth and Keyan Ivey also placed. Local businesses received honors for support.

Old School Tattoo hosts fifth Bikini Bike Wash in Colfax
Old School Tattoo in Colfax hosts the 5th Annual Bikini Bike Wash and Motorcycle Swap Meet from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday May 18. Presented by the Grand Fathers Motorcycle Club of Northern California the event benefits Child Advocates of Nevada County and the Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Coalition with food booths live music by Bad Cat and a vendor call to Crayman at 346-8783. The day also marks the shop’s grand opening at 233 South Auburn Street Suite 160 in Colfax with activities in the parking lot behind the parlor.
