At about 8 am on Sunday March 2 a two vehicle crash on Interstate 80 near Rainbow Bend left a Pontiac Grand Am on its top. Driver Michelle Bowman 28 of North Highlands and passenger Lafanya Stevens 32 of West Sacramento sustained major injuries and were transported to Tahoe Forest Hospital.
Placer County deputies were notified early Tuesday of a man lying between Union Pacific railroad tracks near Secret Town. A passing locomotive engineer reported the incident. Deputy found the body of 19 year old Eric Allen Spell of Loomis. It appeared he took his own life.
