Neff House remembered as town heritage amid recovery
Colfax residents recount the Neff House history built by Jacob Neff in 1863 at Grass Valley and Kneeland. The damaged site sparks calls for preservation while praising Neff’s public service and generosity. A separate feature highlights a Highway Patrol officer aiding a Tennessee family on I-80, aided by locals in Colfax, Dutch Flat, Alta. Rich Ruiz reports from Gold Run.
