Teleminder emergency alert system rolls out in Placer County
The Placer County Sheriff Department unveils Teleminder a computer based telephone notification system to deliver urgent public safety messages 15 seconds can reach 3900 households or businesses in one hour The system housed at the Sheriff’s Emergency Dispatch Center in North Auburn can target a street or community and avoids telemarketer lists It cannot be used for political messages or sales pitches Sheriff Ed Bonner praises the technology as lifesaving while coordinator Kelly Atchley explains the workflow and acceptance guidance for residents
