Colfax Fourth of July Brings Fun Despite Delays
Fireworks and food highlight Colfax’s one day Fourth of July celebration driven by a dedicated Chamber of Commerce team. Barbara Bowers and Michelle Peerson led a townwide parade of Colfax gear while Mayor Sharon Gieras joined in dunk tank fun. The Lions Parade opened with Mary Walker and Paris Endicott-Chase singing, Elves decorated downtown, and an Amtrak delay touched train passengers as Colfax celebrated the renamed RR Junction freight depot.

Colfax letters question planning as Miles yard proposal faces ire
Readers accuse Colfax officials of waiving rules in approving R J Miles landscaping yard on Whitcomb Avenue. A biologist found no environmental impact due to prior damage by humans, while residents cite dust and noise from sand and gravel handling and fear of traffic changes at South Auburn. The letter urges wakefulness as Colfax could face similar issues.
