Karaoke fits the menu well at Giovanni's in Colfax
Giovanni's Restaurant and Tavern in Colfax stays busy on Fridays as karaoke draws singers and music lovers. Owner John Panelli, whose family bought the business in 1942, recalls a long history from the Shady Glen era to a 1985 reopening after a 1964 explosion damaged the building near a railroad tanker shed and dynamite. The complex has since expanded with a mobile home park adding utilities.
