Stormy Saturday crashes jam I 80 injure eight
A series of crashes along Interstate 80 Saturday afternoon stretched area emergency services. California Highway Patrol units three air ambulances five ground ambulances and several fire departments including Colfax Alta and Dutch Flat aided in rescues.

Off duty deputy aids victim in domestic abuse case
Calfax off duty deputy Mike Siepert found an injured neighbor at his doorstep in Alta. The woman, an apparent domestic abuse victim, suffered a serious facial cut after being struck with a beer glass. Alta Fire evacuated her, CalStar airlifted her to Sutter Roseville Hospital. more deputies responded.
