Training drills turn to real rescue as Alta-Dutch Flat volunteers respond
Saturday drills of the Alta-Dutch Flat Volunteer Fire Department focused on knots and pulley systems for canyon rescues led by CDF Station 33 Engineer Jon Woody. Battalion Chief Jeff Brand commended Woody before volunteers were diverted to an automobile bicycle crash on Sacramento Street in Dutch Flat involving Grass Valley resident Bob Joslin.

Colfax Opens New Wastewater Chlorinating Plant
Colfax began chlorinating its new wastewater facility with pipes linked to the plant on Tuesday. City Manager Bob Perrault said full operation would take about two weeks during commissioning and noted the project remains unfinished through 2006 with future improvements planned. TNT Industrial Contractors built the plant as part of a corrective process after a Cease and Desist Order from the Regional Water Quality Control Board dated July 14, 2002.

Colfax City Engineer Joyce Davis Resigns Effective Feb 14
Colfax City Engineer Joyce Davis has submitted her resignation effective February 14. She has focused on the wastewater treatment plant and depot restoration.
