Putnam County livestock breeders held a meeting at Greencastle court house to organize a new livestock breeders association. Officers include Charles Bridges president W D Lovett vice president Earl Bunten secretary treasurer representing different breeds. An executive committee of seven plans a pavilion project and solicits bids while aiming for 150 members by April 3.

Switch Work Begins Near Claud Phillips Farm for Route Road Construction
Switch foreman Raymond Reynolds and his Men started installing a switch on the Pennsylvania railroad in the west end of town near the Claud Phillips farm for the Cunningham road construction company. A high bank was cut down before the switch. The miniature railroad will run from this site to the National road, with small cars loaded from local railroad cars and hauled to the National road. Weather delays aside, road work will begin in earnest and a large winter crew has kept busy repairing cars and machinery in preparation this summer.

Pioneer Harriett Elrod Dies at 88 Near town
Harriett Elrod 88 a longtime local resident died Monday night at her son in law H D Jod son home southwest of town after a brief brain blood clot. Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Methodist church with Rev C N McBrayer and burial at Stilesville cemetery. Survived by brother John Shields and sister Mrs Mary Phillips.

Mary E. Douglas, born 1841, died March 8, 1920 at age 78 with husband Eliana Douglas and two children Edgar and Sarah. She joined Baptist churches in 1908 and 1910 became bereft of her husband, living with daughter Mrs. Ernest South. Survived by four brothers, one sister, six grandchildren, and many relatives.
