Funeral for Rev W F Sheridan Held in Greencastle
The funeral of Rev. W. F. Sheridan, paralysis death in Chicago, was held Monday afternoon at College Avenue Methodist church Greencastle. Bishops Quayle and Nicholson and Dr George R Grose officiated. Sheridan was general secretary emeritus of the Upworth League and author of many books. He helped form the flying squadron promoting prohibition in 1914 1915 and was named to the Carnegie Peace Foundation mission to the Hague in 1913.

Three well known Greencastle citizens died Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Q O H Bowen 57 proprietor of the Commercial hotel died after a serious illness with recent Florida winter visit. John T Boyd died suddenly at his Bloomington street home from apoplexy. James G Heath 67 died at his daughter Mrs Leslie Hamaker’s Hanna street home after a lingering illness.

Farm Sale Near McAllen Promises Split for Settlers
W R Todd of northwest of town sold a 44 acre farm near McAllen to a McAllen improvement company for 8750 per acre. Todd bought the place last summer for 525 per acre and will vacate in June. The land will be divided into acre and five acre tracts for resale to settlers to cultivate and beautify.

The Reno school property will be sold to the highest bidder on Thursday April 8 for not less than two thirds of its appraised value. If unsold that day it will stay for sale until sold. Russellville School Teeth Exam Reveals Poor Dental Health
Last week 129 pupils at Russellville grade and high school were tested for dental health. Only two high school students and six grade pupils had perfect teeth. many showed multiple decayed teeth and 14.4 percent of total teeth were bad. Seventy five of the students brush regularly, while others do not, prompting the superintendent to call for school wide attention to oral hygiene. The report suggests similar results in other schools if examined.

Prominent Green castle attorney Jackson Boyd, long active in city affairs, politics, and law, died suddenly at 1 30 PM Tuesday at his home after a recent illness report says pneumonia and heart trouble led to the fatal event. Born in Putnam county, he studied at DePauw and wrote several books. He served in the state legislature, led the progressive movement in the state for a time, and held Masonic and Knight Templar affiliations.
