Damage Closes In On Local Farms From Saturday Storm
A severe hail and windstorm swept farm areas southwest and northwest of town last Saturday. It shredded young corn on the Cline White and Goffin farms and riddled a Knetzer wheat field. Dozens of chickens died, many fruit trees fell, and livestock losses included two cows. A large tree struck the Methodist parsonage yard and power was out along the local streetcar line.
