Negro intruder captured after break in near Greencastle
A 17 year old male thief entered the Stoner home on the Fillmore road east of Greencastle to steal a revolver. He fled but was tracked by William Graham and a posse, captured hiding on the ground, confessed hunger, and was jailed in Putnam county.

Boy Frightened After Near Miss With Car
Five year old Floyd Iddings son of Mr. and Mrs. Claud Iddings was knocked down and run over by a Dodge touring car driven by C. E. Wallace on south Main street near the George Wise residence. The wheels straddled him but the child escaped with light bruises and much fear after the vehicle stopped quickly.

Service Medals Awarded By Pennsylvania Railroad
Dr. C F Hope attended ceremonies in Terre Haute on Saturday where the Pennsylvania railroad awarded service medals to ex service men. His sons Frank and Paul Hope were also honored among the recipients. Birthday party for Geneva Browns eleventh birthday
A party was given at Geneva Browns home Saturday July 10 for her eleventh birthday. Twelve girlfriends attended and played games and music. Natalie Nichols and Ber tha Storm won two contests. Life-Long Putnam Resident Jesse Hurst Dies at 84
Life long Putnam county resident Jesse Hurst age 84 died at his home near Belle Union Saturday evening. He lived in the same house most of his life except for ten years on a neighboring farm entered by his father from the government about ninety nine years ago. He is survived by two sons Albert of Chicago and Doris of Amo and four daughters Hester at home Lydia Nichols of Indianapolis Della Scott of Amo and Roanna Cummings of southeast Putnam county. Funeral services were held at Belle Union Monday morning with burial there.
