Edwards Secures Federal Funds For GEAR UP Program
Washington DC Region 12 Education Service Center receives 95000 from the US Department of Education to administer the GEAR UP program. The funds, secured by Congressman Chet Edwards in the 2003 Appropriations bill, support McLennan and Bosque county students and local partners including Hill College and Texas State Technical College. The program aims to boost advanced courses, improve state exam passage, and encourage continued education beyond high school. Edwards notes the investment benefits central Texas students and the broader economy.

History Of Bosque County In Clifton Fire Dept Efforts
A fragmentary note recalls the Clifton Commercial Club and the Clifton Fire Department history. It mentions constitutions and by laws adopted by a local improvement society, funds raised for fire protection, and a donor’s check of 54.30 with reminiscences of plays that funded fire protection efforts and the desire for an organized fire company with water pressure.
