Rae Reminisces About Adventures By Dat Serien Clifton
Rae and his wife Bess retired to Bosque County after a lifetime of travels and varied careers. A Pottsville High School graduate, Rae starred in football and basketball for the Fighting Bobcats before enlisting in the Army Air Corps. He trained as a radio operator, flew C47 missions between Australia and New Guinea, and survived malaria among others. His logbook from the war remains, and he recalls the 1945 missing aircraft in New Guinea. He later returned to Texas and planned to attend Texas Christian University.

The Clifton Planning and Zoning group opened its season with a ceremony for Bernie Dutton on the board. A long discussion clarified who bears sidewalk upkeep on highways 6 and 219 and in private property. Private owners must maintain sidewalks to city specs. newly built sidewalks are the developer’s responsibility for the first year before ownership reverts to the individual property owner.
