Bosque County Approves 1969 Tax Roll Biggest Ever

The 1969 Bosque County tax roll totals 16 498 90 0 valuation, the largest to date, with 98.8 percent of 1968 levy collected by June 30, 1969. Tax notices go out in October with discounts for early payment and voter registration forms on the back. Registration runs Oct 1 1969 to Jan 31 1970 for the 1970 elections, no fee.

Clifton Cubs and Connally Cadets played to an 8 to 8 draw at Connally. Bennie Beseda scored for Connally in the third quarter, Joe Wallace tied it for Clifton in the fourth, and Jack Wiggins saved a Cadet TD with a late tackle on Roger Pick. Soil Shortcourse Aims For Larger Fertilizer Returns

Woman Charged With Killing Infant Transferred to Waco Jail

Randy Ashcraft of Meridian was charged with the slaying of her 26 day old daughter Randa Marie Ashcraft. She was moved from Bosque County Jail to McLennan County Jail in Waco for extended custody after authorities said the infant was found dead in a bathtub and decapitated. Newark County Sheriff John Baxter cited facility needs for the transfer and noted a jail matron would accompany her at all times.

B-Squad Racks Midway and Drops Connally in Season Opener
