Roberts family completes 10 mile mission walk in Hillsboro
Mrs. Billy Roberts and her two daughters from Clifton led an Aug 20 mission walk for the First United Pentecostal Church of Hillsboro. Eighteen participants hiked 10 miles from Peoria to beyond SH 35, with three-mile refreshment checkpoints and times from two hours to three hours 15 minutes. Total proceeds reached 650 dollars, with Mrs. Roberts 92, Donna 96.50, and Sandy 136.50. Weather was cool and cloudy with some rain as sponsors from Clifton, Crawford Gap, and Valley Mills were thanked.

The Bosque Brunch Bunch fed 135 early exhibitors at the Central Texas Youth Fair opening day breakfast. Co sponsored by Aars & Nelson Insurance Evans Implements and the Clifton Chamber of Commerce the event supported by a per plate cook. The Brunch Bunch attendees included Dr John C Fowler and numerous volunteers. Proceeds were a gift to the Exhibits Building.
