West Shore VFD Fish Fry Promises Labor Day Fundraiser
West Shore VFD holds its 40th annual Labor Day Fish Fry this Saturday September 5 at the Shore Acres fire hall. Last year at Texas Largest Fish Fry the event served 2,100 people with 1,800 pounds of deep fried fish, 1,000 pounds of potatoes, 700 pounds of cole slaw, and 125 gallons of iced tea and lemonade. Serving begins at 5 p.m. with a minimum $8 donation per plate. Chief Aaron Jones says the fry is the department’s major fundraiser.
